As of last Wednesday Early Bird is no longer a preschooler. She’s an official kindergartener.
What??!! When? How?!
I know I’m not the only proud momma out there that is both excited and terrified of their kid growing up. A little confession about me, which will come to NO surprise to my family. I hate change. Like, HATE it! I dig in with my nails and heels to change. I get comfortable with a routine, my surroundings, my comfort area. Why go and mess with it? But, having a daughter has taught me that change happens All. The. Time. Every day, week and year and if I don’t roll with it I’ll be unhappy forever and ever and miss out on some of the best times of our lives!
So, with us saying goodbye to her small cocoon of a school and entering into a big (700 student) world of Big School I’m not looking in the rearview mirror. I’ve chosen to look to the road ahead and embrace this change because SHE is!!
She is PUMPED to go to Big School. To meet new friends. To experience new teachers. To play on a new playground. To grow. To learn. To read. So, that makes me excited!!
With that! Goodbye Preschool. Hello Kindergarten!
