“We live a simple life,” I said.

“But I reallllllly want a dog, mommy,” she said

“We can come and go as we please.” I said

“But I will take care of it and feed it and potty-train it. I proooooooomise.” she said

“Ok, when you’re 5 we’ll get one.” I said
