This past Saturday we trudged up the soggy Santa Cruz Mountains for our 2nd annual Christmas tree cutting.
We hiked and hiked and hiked in mud and slosh and probably looked at about 30 trees. Unfortunately we couldn’t find The Perfect One but we found one which we all three agreed on, which says A LOT in our household!
This year we had a new member of the family, Ms. Stella. Her partner in crime was (mostly) appropriately dressed for the occasion in her Mrs. Claus outfit. But for those of you that know her it doesn’t have to be Christmas for her to wear it. It could be in the middle of summer in 90 degree humidity in Austin, Texas (true story!).
I love how the Santa Cruz Mountains look from the top! Beautiful and I feel so lucky to have this in my backyard!
And for those wondering, “Why ‘Happy Taco Tuesday?'” As we were paying for our tree Early Bird in all her comical wit decided to amuse the cashier by yelling “Happy Taco Tuesday” instead of your normal run-of-the-mill boring expected “Merry Christmas.” I mean, anybody can say that! (She does keep it lively around here!)
All the searching must have worn them out!
